Disney’s Maleficent Inspired Collection

MaleficentThere isn’t a girl out there who doesn’t know of the movie, “Sleeping Beauty.” I know I grew up watching it and what kind of movie would it be, without a villain? Especially a female with evil powers and mystique. We all watch these films just to see who the bad guy is going to be, don’t we? Disney has made a movie all about the evil sorceress, Maleficent. I have always enjoyed the look and feel of her character and am glad that someone else recognized it too. This movie was inspired by it’s original, so whose been inspired by it’s remake?

Designer, Heidi Daus and the Home Shopping Network (HSN) have decided to pair up together and sell these wonderful bejeweled creations. I was expecting her collection to be a bit more dark and brooding like the mysterious character herself. I was thinking she was predominantly going to use the colors of the original animated film including black, purple, and green. I thought the jewelry was going to be a bit more evil than the collection turned out to be.

Instead, the color scheme used is:

  • Pinks
  • Purples
  • Blues
  • Yellows

Her style is a bit more organic feeling. In her designs, she has movement in the way she twists the pieces. To me, it makes you feel like you are in a garden.

In this garden, you will find:

  • Roses
  • Crystals
  • Pearls
  • Ravens
  • Leafs
  • Flowers

My top 3 favorites from Heidi’s collection are Aurora’s necklace, ring, and bracelet. As you can see, they are quite beautiful and stunning.
