It’s a bird, it’s a plane…NO..It’s a FAUX HAWK!

I have to say that I personally enjoy the Faux Hawk. I used to sport one and totally rocked it (that’s me on the left)! Just think about it, how does a trend get started? Well it takes a strong person to be able to wear this style with confidence. Hairstyles may go out of style, but they eventually come back with a new twist or spin on it. Look at 80’s leggings for godsake! Who would have ever thought those would be back hmm..? Even though the punk rock days of the 80’s are over, they are being reincarnated for a new generation.

I am not alone, even celebrity Pink has been spotted sporting a Faux Hawk!

This hairstyle isn’t as extreme as it’s parent, the “Mohawk.” This watered down version makes it easy for girls to wear. If girls shaved the sides of their head in a traditional mohawk, they may be stereo-typed as “gay” because it is so out there and kind of butch. I myself like to have an edge and with not a whole lot of people wearing a faux hawk, it made me feel like I knew something others didn’t. I don’t think enough people have caught onto how cool of a style this is, which is lucky for me because I didn’t look like everyone else!

My advice is to experiment with your hair to create the type of image you want to portray. It is OK to be a little different and stand out in the crowd! After all, it is only hair, it will grow and color will fade, so have fun with it!
